Meet the Team
Ashley began her journey with horses at a very young age. She has been riding and working with horses for 23 years and has always found peace in the relationships she’s built with them. Her inspiration for pursuing the start of HSNY was her horse named Raptor, a retired, off-track Thoroughbred. The joy it brought Ashley to share her love of horses, especially Raptor, made her want to do something more than just riding, and so began Horse Sense NY! Ashley is a certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator as well as a graduate of the University at Albany where she took several courses in Special Education, Corporate Management, and Business Management to understand many different elements of client types and abilities.

Dan is one of our Team Building Specialists who has a passion for helping kids learn and grow through adventuring in the outdoors. He has many years of experience working as an outdoor educator in which he was trained on team building for children. In his spare time, Dan enjoys hiking with his dogs, spending time with family, and helping others find happiness in nature. He is always happy to come up with fun, thought-provoking activities for our participants to conquer with the horses!

Kiersten is one of our equine-assisted life skills facilitators who also has a passion for riding horses. Kiersten is a USDF Certified Instructor and Bronze medalist. Kiersten focuses on teaching lessons in dressage and jumping at her own business, Vertical Farm, but also enjoys sharing her love of riding and horsemanship with riders of all ages and experiences. Kiersten is an active competitor in dressage as well as jumping. Kiersten grew up in the Equestrian world of the Old Chatham Hunt Club in Chatham, NY. She is a licensed NYS Veterinarian Technician and is well versed in equine health and well-being.

Jodi is a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker at Coldwell Banker Prime Properties who specializes in corporate team building and management techniques. Services and client satisfaction is very important to her. Jodi has a background in psychology and education. The Real Estate profession has been a perfect fit for her business plan and she enjoys incorporating the things she's learned within Real Estate into her work with HSNY's corporate retreats. Jodi enjoys spending quality time with her family as well as doting on her horse Cash, who also helps participants learn at HSNY!
